What to Pack


What to Bring to Niemeyer’s Rugged River Resort

We’re often asked, “What should I bring?” To make packing easier, we’ve put together these helpful lists. You can also check the “Amenities” tab for items already provided in your cabin. If you have any questions, give us a call—we’re happy to help!


Personal Care Items

  • Clothes for all seasons

  • Swimsuit, sandals, walking shoes

  • Rain gear, hat, sunglasses

  • Hand towels, pool & bath towels, washcloths

  • Body soap, shampoo, sunscreen, bug spray

  • Need towels? Towel packages are available for rent, inquire ahead of time, so we have them ready for you.


Kitchen

  • Cooking oil, spices, and condiments

  • Paper towels and paper plates

  • Food, snacks, and drinks (stay hydrated!)

  • Baggies, plastic wrap, foil, or containers for leftovers


Other Essentials

  • Charcoal, lighter fluid, and lighter

  • Flashlight

  • Roasting sticks

  • Small cooler

  • Extra lawn chairs

  • Camera

  • Fishing gear, fishing license, bait, and bait bucket

  • Life jackets


Pet Items (Cabins only — not allowed on houseboats)

  • Food and water dishes

  • Kennel

  • Leash or tie-out

  • Favorite pet pillow


Houseboat Packing List

Your houseboat comes furnished with:

  • Small stove, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster (only the large houseboat/Miss Guided has a small oven)

  • Gas grill, pots & pans, dishes/glasses, silverware, knives

  • Garbage bags, dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper

What to Bring:

  • Bedding, pillows, or sleeping bags

  • Towels: bath, swim, and kitchen

  • Personal care items (shampoo, deodorant, etc.)

  • Clothing for warm and cool weather

  • Bug spray & sunscreen

  • Paper products (paper towels, plates, cups)

  • Food, snacks, beverages, and coffee

  • Spices, seasonings, cooking oil/spray

  • Ice and cooler

  • Baggies, plastic wrap, foil for leftovers

  • Camera and flashlight

  • Fishing gear, license, and bait

Important: Pets are not allowed on houseboats.
